Frequently asked questions
How does the time zone converter work?
The first city in the list is your home city. Each row shows the 24 hours of that day in your home city, translated to the local time of the other cities. Light tiles are working hours, mid tones are early morning and evening, and dark tiles are night.
Are my cities saved?
Yes. Your cities, time format and the cities you added recently are stored in your browser’s local storage. Nothing is sent to a server.
Does it handle daylight saving time?
Yes. Conversions use the IANA time zone database built into your browser, which knows every country’s clock changes. Pick a future date to see the difference on that day.
What is the difference between UTC and GMT?
In practice they show the same time. UTC is the scientific reference standard; GMT is London’s winter time zone. That is why offsets are written as UTC+1, UTC−5 and so on.
